The Sleep Inn (or Sleep Inn & Suites) brand was developed in 1988 by Choice Hotels International as a midscale, limited-service budget brand. Sleep Inn guestrooms are designed with walk-in showers, workspaces with desk-height outlets, telephones with data ports, and complimentary high-speed Internet access. Most properties feature a pool, a fitness room, and meeting/hospitality rooms. Sleep Inns also offer a daily "Morning Medley" continental breakfast and free local calls.

As of year-end 2017, there were 384 Sleep Inn properties (27,410 hotel rooms) in the U.S. In 2017, the brand's U.S. hotels operated at an average occupancy level of 65.5%, an average daily rate of $82.96, and an average RevPAR level of $54.35.
