Travelodge chiefly targets budget-conscious leisure travelers. Certain Travelodge properties offer Sleepy Bear Dens, guestrooms that are designed for families with small children. The Travelodge franchise is one of the many brands offered by Wyndham Hotel Group, and in April 2018, the "by Wyndham" moniker was added to the name.

As of year-end 2018, there were 435 properties (31,005 rooms) worldwide. In 2018, the brand operated at an average RevPAR level of $38.98. The brand did not publish occupancy and average rate levels for 2018; however, RevPAR increased by 3.0% in 2018, so it is likely the levels did not change substantially from the 2017 occupancy of 50.9% and average rate of $74.21.
